At Finca San Ramón we grow different types of Arabica beans; but mostly Caturra, Bourbon, Catuaí and Parainema.
All our different varieties are mixed across the plantations. The result is a cup with a good body, medium acidity, sweet fruity notes, nuty and above all a chocolate after taste. However, we do have a more limited production in separate lots of Margogipe and Java which are highly regarded among our clients.
Originally from Brazil, but now grown across Latin America, Maragogipe is a variety from the Arabica family known as Elephant bean due to its big size in comparison with the rest. This plant is particularly tall however its annual yield its lower in comparison with other types of coffee plants.
Our Maragogipe is grown above 1100 meters sea level, with a yearly production of around 25K to 35K kg. The exportable size of our bean is Screen 19 up, which is the equivalent of 7.5 mm up. Its distinguished by a balanced cup, fine acidity, creamy body, aromatic, intense chocolaty flavor and soft to the palate.

This variety is originally from the island of Java in Indonesia. Its worldwide known coffee with very good reviews because of its rich cup, good body and medium acidity; today this coffee its no longer limited to its original island but spread throughout the world.
The plant is on average taller than the rest of typical variaties and known for its large branches.
Our Java plantations are grown in micro-lots between 1050 to 1150 meters above sea level. Though young still, our beans have provided interesting results with very good acceptance form our clients; with a yearly production its approximately 12K to 15K kg.
The cup has a good body, light acidity, sweet, citric hints and herbal tea notes.

The largest part of our plantations is composed of different Arábica varieties that, complemented by the richness of our soil and ecosystem, provide a unique mixture. Among our varieties are:
Grown at 1000 meters above sea level our yearly exports range between 250Kg and 370K kg.
Our coffee is known for having a relatively large bean (more than 50% its above 6.7 mm) and a cup with a good body, medium acidity, sweet fruity, flowers and chocolate notes.
